I’m better at following shows than listening to them

What podcasts are you listening to?

If I try to stuff anymore in my brain rn

Podcasts are one of those things I’m either in feast or famine about. Currently, I’m in famine.

Between reading and listening to books, blogging, reading other blogs, online learning for my class, irl conversations, and the creation of The Game of Me, my brain is crammed rather full.

Pods I have loved include The One You Feed, The Ezra Klein Show, Dear Hank and John, and the Politics Girl podcast.

When I do listen, i choose podcasts that grapple with questions and life and learning.

My first podcast was Serial and I do believe with that one I actually had to wait for each episode, like an old-fashioned radio show!

I’ll leave you with a poem:

Roses are red,

Violets are purple

Podcasts are fine

But I just don’t have time.

      1. No. Lack of interest mainly. I hear a couple podcasts on the radio occasionally, and all they seem to be is people’s opinions about sonething. I have my own opinions aboyt things that interest me: (In my opinion Israel is fighting their war to punish HAMAS for existing, but also to destroy the resolve of Palestinians to live in Gaza and the West Bank. They forget all their lands once belonged to Palestinians at one time and the land they niw have was a gift which they don’t appreciate. Their leader, Netanyahu, is a killer and should be held responsible for the desth of every Palestinian citizen, especially each child and hospital patient, but instead he is blameless in the eyes of most democracies. They forget they are the ones who gifted Palestinian lands to the Israelis, so they are culpable for every murder commited by an Israeli. If not for their gift the PLO and HAMAS would never gave existed, and none of this bullshit would be hsppening now.
Just because European-based governments, including the USA and Canada, have a hate on against the Arabs for religious reasons, although they all wordhip the same God — just in different ways — was not reason enough to give Israel s homeland based on the writings in a book nobody knows when it was written or who wrote it, added to which was the guilt of what the Nazis did to the Jews — which had nothing to do with the Arabs, yet they were the ones penalized.

Tell me, Susan, would you be interested in a Podcast of me giving those opinions to the world. I sure hope not.

      2. There is that. If the words are in print they can be revisited over and over, especially for clarity of thought and intent. It is much easier than to try to find a passage in a spoken piece, especially if the speaker or speakers mutter or slur words, or talk so fast you csnnot understand them, or so slow or monotone they put you to sleep. Written words are always more appriachable, in my mind…

      3. I have become a huge fan of subtitles. I’ve used them for years on tv shows and movies especially when the actors have strong accents but I even use them now for YouTube videos because I take more in when I read than when I listen.

      4. Strongly agree thouh I find moet music from the 60s and before singers were taught to enunciate. Nowadays they couldn’t care less if they are understood or not. Msybe it’s intentional but I hope not.
