As The Kids Say: Well, Duh

Do you vote in political elections?

Yeah, no. Sorry, folks, I refuse to answer. Political questions don’t clear any space for joy. I just don’t see any value in this prompt.

I realize I may have answered questions with a political slant in the past but I’m turning over a new leaf. Hope I find a bumblebee underneath it. I like bumblebees.

I moved my dryer today so it’s back to being side by side with the washer. I had turned it so the machines were in an L-shape. I like change now and then.

Ok. Changed my mind. For all the good that it does, yes I vote. And I hope you will too.

  1. Remember, I am not American.
Until they give me someone worth voting for — someone who will not sit in my livingroom and lie to my face, which last happened in about 1976 — I will not vote.
I refuse to vote for the best choice when no choice is good. That is not democracy.

    1. makes perfect sense. wish i felt like not voting was a reasonable option this year but of the two choices, one seems infinitely worse than the other, so i will cast a vote.

      1. I probably would too, were I American. I have been encouraging Americans to vote. The more people who vote, the better the chance Trump will be trying to say he won again. Hopefully, when he does, Americans will just laugh at him. The 2nd best choice is he dies on Oct 30, too late to change the ballots.

  2. Meaningful posts as always. I absolutely agree with you on this. I’ve never had an interest in American politics. I don’t live in the United States, so voting is one of those processes I don’t have access to. That being said, there are certain films which have made political subjects into compelling entertainment. To give one example, “Oppenheimer” is a fantastic film that managed to make a political topic entertaining. Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning biopic traced the life of an influential inventor that designed the atomic bomb. Oppenheimer was one of those historical figures that played vital roles in politics. I was impressed by how the film made a difficult subject related to politics engaging. So, even though I don’t have any interest in U.S. politics, I do appreciate movies which manage to make this subject entertaining.

Here’s why I loved the Oscar winner for best picture:
